Our Team

Dr. James Bonar

Dr. Bonar graduated from the University of Manitoba Dental Faculty in 1983 and served as a dental officer in the Canadian Armed Forces before starting his private practice in 1986. He has held leadership positions with the Western Manitoba Dental Society and the Manitoba Dental Association, earning recognition such as the MDA President's Award of Merit and fellowships from the Pierre Fauchard Academy and the International College of Dentists. He currently sits on the board of CDSPI and focuses on surgery and implant dentistry.

He is married to Sandy and has three children, one of whom also practices at Chancellor.

Dr. Alex Pappas

Dr. Pappas graduated from the University of Manitoba Faculty of Dentistry in 1991 and joined Chancellor Dental in 1995. He has a strong interest in orthodontics and has held leadership roles in the Western Manitoba Dental Society and the Manitoba Dental Association's Economics Committee. He is also a member of the Manitoba Dental Foundation.

An avid skier and racquet sports enthusiast, Dr. Pappas enjoys an active lifestyle with his three children.

Dr. Cameron Norrie

Dr. Norrie completed his science degree and Doctor of Dental Medicine at the University of Manitoba, receiving multiple academic awards. He furthered his training with a General Practice Residency at the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg, where he gained experience with oral surgery, sedation, and treating patients with special needs.

He serves on the Board of Directors for the St. Paul’s College Foundation and enjoys golfing, traveling, and spending time outdoors with his wife, Dr. Darci Bonar, and their children.

Dr. Darci Bonar

Dr. Bonar earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of Manitoba in 2011. She has been involved in dental education and mentorship and served on the executive committee of the Winnipeg Dental Society. Dr. Bonar offers a broad range of general dentistry services, including restorative, aesthetic, pediatric, and surgical care, as well as Invisalign and intraoral scanning.

She returned to Brandon in 2021 to join Chancellor Dental alongside her father, Dr. James Bonar. Outside of work, she enjoys time with her family, traveling, exercising, and baking.

Dr. Mitch Lyall

Dr. Lyall is a dedicated dentist who offers a full range of general dentistry services, including nitrous sedation to ensure patient comfort. He completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Sioux Falls in 2019 and graduated from the University of Manitoba's dental program in 2024. Dr. Lyall is committed to staying current with the latest advancements in dental care.

Outside the office, he enjoys staying active with baseball, biking, golf, and hockey. He also spends time outdoors with his partner, Mia.

Maxine

Maxine has worked alongside Dr. Pappas for many years. She enjoys gardening, crafting, and spending time with her husband, children, and pets. Recently, she welcomed her first grandson. She once went skydiving—a memory that stands out.

Aimee

Aimee has 16 years of experience in dentistry and holds a Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Centro Escolar University in the Philippines. She has worked in Singapore and Canada. Starting at Chancellor Dental in June of 2024. Outside of work, she enjoys reading, singing, cooking, and baking.

Steina

Steina has long been a valued part of the Chancellor team and works closely with Dr. Pappas. Outside of work, she enjoys photography, music, the beach, and spending time with friends.

Jordyn

Jordyn studied at Brandon University before graduating from Red River College Polytech’s Dental Assisting program. She enjoys staying active, reading, and traveling—especially visiting Spain, where her best friend lives. Music is also a big part of her life.

Denisse

Denisse brings eight years of experience in dentistry. She studied in Colombia and spent time at Brandon University focusing on Biomedical Science. Since moving to Brandon in 2017 with her husband and daughters, she’s enjoyed camping, singing, and shopping.

Trish

Trish graduated from Keewatin Community College in 1995 and has assisted Dr. Bonar since 2007. She enjoys cooking, walking her dog, and spending time with her family. She is passionate about helping patients feel comfortable and supported during their visits.

Michelle

Michelle graduated from Red River Community College in 2015 and joined Chancellor in 2020. A mom of three, she enjoys outdoor activities like hiking and fishing, as well as spending family time on Sunday mornings.

Lorena

Lorena became a certified assistant after graduating from Red River College in Winkler. She is proud of her journey as a single mother of four. Outside of work, she enjoys gardening, cooking, golfing, and quality time with her children.

Ricki

Ricki has worked as a Level II assistant since 2013 and joined Chancellor in 2023. She enjoys golf, evenings by the fire, and time with her two kids. She’s known for her sense of humor and her focus on helping patients feel at ease.

Vikash

Vikash has been with Chancellor since 2013. He graduated from Oxford College of Art, Business & Technology in 2007. He enjoys traveling and spending time with his family, especially visiting Toronto.

Roxanna

Roxanna graduated from the University of Manitoba School of Dental Hygiene in 2006 and joined Chancellor Dental in 2008. She has experience in both Winnipeg and Portage. Outside of work, she lives on an acreage with her husband, two kids, and a variety of animals. She enjoys camping, boating, and reading with her family.

Jessica

Jessica joined Chancellor Dental in 2021. She studied at Brandon University and earned her Dental Hygiene Diploma from the University of Manitoba. She enjoys volleyball, traveling, and spending time with her partner Brett and their friends. Her adventurous side includes experiences like swimming with wild sharks.

Kara

Kara holds an Advanced Diploma of Dental Hygiene from the Canadian National Institute of Health in Ottawa. She enjoys music, time with family and friends, and outdoor adventures with her spouse and their dog, Honey. One of her most memorable experiences includes bungee jumping with Great Canadian Bung.

Brooke

With 3 years in the dental field as a Registered Dental Hygienist, Brooke is passionate about patient care. She holds a degree from Brandon University and a diploma from the University of Manitoba. Outside of work, she loves spending time outdoors and adores her two cats.

Hilary

Hilary knew she wanted to become a dental hygienist since the age of 13, and she's proud to have turned that lifelong goal into a reality. She began her post-secondary journey at Brandon University before moving to Ottawa, where she graduated as a Registered Dental Hygienist in February 2025. Passionate about oral health and patient care.

Stephanie

Steph, our Business Manager, joined the team in 2019, and holds both a BBA and an MBA. She manages HR, accounting, operations, project management, strategic planning, and more. Outside of work, Steph enjoys hiking, cross-country skiing, biking, camping, and exploring parks across Western Canada.

Taya

Taya has been connected to Chancellor Dental for most of her life and officially joined the team in 2023. She brings previous experience as a medical receptionist. Taya enjoys reading, crafting, and spending time with her loved ones while planning her upcoming wedding.

Krista

Krista is a recent addition to the team since October 2024 and brings prior dental office experience. She and her husband, Dustin, enjoy camping with their three children and pets. Her lighthearted nature and positive energy make her a valued member of the office.

Shayla

Shayla has been in the dental field for 1.5 years, providing excellent service at the front desk. Graduated in Gladstone, MB in 2017. She loves hiking and spending time with her two fur friends, Rogie and Cali

Ericka

New to the dental field starting in July 2025, Ericka brings a fresh perspective to the office. With a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies, she loves reading, going on walks with her dog, and dreams of living closer to the mountains.
